Summary

websuche.com sets no cookies itself. With your consent, we measure how the website is used with Google Analytics (see "Web analytics"). To finance the site we show ads from Google AdSense; Google may use cookies and similar technologies for this, to the extent you consent (see "Advertising"). To produce the search results, your search terms are sent to an AI service – without your IP address.

Visiting the website and server log files

When you visit the website, technically necessary data is processed and stored in server log files: IP address, date and time, requested address (including the search term, as it is part of the address), HTTP status code, amount of data transferred, the previously visited page (referrer), and browser and operating system.

This processing serves to deliver the website and to keep it secure and stable (e.g. defending against attacks and analysing errors). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in these purposes. Log files are stored only as long as necessary for these purposes and are deleted afterwards. Where we use technical service providers (hosting) to operate the servers, they process the data solely on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR).

Search queries

To show you search results, we process your search term (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR):

Web analytics (Google Analytics)

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"), to understand how the website is used and to improve it. In particular, the pages visited – on results pages including your search term –, time and duration of the visit, the previously visited page, information about your browser and device, and your approximate location are recorded. For this, Google stores cookies (e.g. "_ga") on your device. According to Google, Google Analytics does not store your IP address.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG), which you give via the consent banner and can change or withdraw at any time with effect for the future via the "Privacy settings" link at the bottom of the page. Without your consent, Google Analytics sets no cookies. The data is deleted in Google Analytics after 14 months at the latest. Regarding transfers to the USA, what is said under "Advertising" applies. More information: policies.google.com/privacy.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We finance websuche.com through ads served by Google AdSense, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). For this, your browser loads program code from Google. Google receives in particular your IP address, information about your browser and device, and the address of the page you visit – on results pages including your search term. Google may use cookies and similar technologies on your device to serve ads, measure their performance, prevent abuse and – with your consent – personalise ads.

On your first visit we ask for your consent via a consent banner. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). You can change or withdraw it at any time with effect for the future via the "Privacy settings" link at the bottom of the page.

Google may also transfer data (including from Google Analytics) to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has issued an adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). More information: policies.google.com/technologies/ads and policies.google.com/privacy.

Light/dark setting

If you use the light/dark switch, your choice is stored in your browser's local storage (localStorage) so it is kept for your next visit. This setting never leaves your device. Storing it is strictly necessary for the function you requested (Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

Links to other websites

Search results link to websites of other providers. When you click a link, that provider's privacy policy applies. The website you visit only learns that you came from websuche.com, not your search term.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). Where we process data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object to the processing on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). To do so, contact us at the address above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, e.g. the authority responsible for us: Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen, Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany.

No automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.
